Guitars and their acoustics based on bracing and their build quality. See most Martins have forward shifted X bracing on the tops and that creates more bass than most others. It also comes in handy when playing with other acoustic instruments cause lower frequencies (ie. bass) travels farther giving the impression of a stronger sound.
