I don't think Racer 5 is meh. It's just past it's prime. It's a surviving veteran of the Great IBU Wars and happy to hang out at the VFW in peace. Think of it like this: Racer 5 is like the F6F Hellcat compared to the modern F18. The Hellcat was a great plane in it's day, but it can't compete with modern planes. Same with Racer 5. Still an awesome beer, just not as new and flashy.
