Pizza Port is pretty important to the development of craft beer in Cali. There are the direct spin-offs like Port and Lost Abbey and the untold numbers of people who have worked there and go e on to work at bigger craft breweries. And I suspect Pizza Pint in Austin, where Boudini was when he started today's thread, was inspired by Pizza Port. Pizza Pint is brewing some great beers.

I agree. Pizza Port is right up there with Stone, Alesmith, and Ballast Point on the Mount Rushmore of San Diego beer scene which is the birthplace of West coast IPA 'S.
Eta Green Flash got in really early too
Eta #2 the first IPA I ever had was Alesmith IPA. It blew me away. I had never heard of an "IPA" or the term "craft beer" Good beer to me was Sam Adams at the time.
