Try as many new beers as possible and post in the FBD threads.
As I said, I usually stick to bourbon or single malt scotches, but when I do venture into the beer world I'll make sure to post in here.

Damn ZS, I sense I may miss some great stuff in your posts later tonight, but I had a hard and shitty day at work today and I need some rest for the 12 hours of beer and football in store for tomorrow.

I had a similar experience 2 weeks ago at Bulldog. It had been a couple of years probably since I'd had it. Very good IPA.
It hadn't been that long for me. But it was the first high IBU beer I tried and really opened up my taste buds. It amazes me how "drinkable" it now seems.

How shitty could it be counting other people's money ? But I understand about the early drinking. I was never an early drinker....but according to my wife I am an early comer....

I am a big fan of single cask bourbons. A few years back I tried as many of the big names as I could. Nothing like a few ounces of a great bourbon over 2 cubes of ice. Blanton's ended up as my favorite, but there are so many great ones--a topic for another thread. I cannot tolerate scotch due to a traumatic experience in my youth.

Maybe if you were an early drinker, you wouldn't be an early comer.

SBD: Homebrewed Bourbon barrel aged Belgian golden. The keg is feeling empty. Might be one of the last.

It is a great IPA no doubt. It had been at least 2 years since I'd had one because, like you, I've been trying all the new stuff I could find.

I hear you. Sometimes my favorite beers that are always available get lost for awhile in the pursuit for new brews.

Hard to explain to someone who is not in my business, but I had several closings today that were delayed because of the lenders inability to get us closing docs and fund us. People selling a house and needing to close to buy another house and movers scheduled, etc. People hollered today.

Not gonna lie. There's a reason you don't see many bourbon barrel aged Belgian golden/blondes. It's alright. I can at least say I tried.

ut, it was horrible. First time I got drunk I took a bottle of cheap scotch from my dad's liquor cabinet and a buddy and I drank it. I will explain next time I see you. The horror.

Ha, sounds like you got more than you bargained for.
