Got a fancy new Aldi in town, went check it out yesterday. It’s definitely different, just seems like random stuff everywhere. But I liked that it was simple, just one item of each thing instead of tons of selection. Close parking so quick run in and run out if needed.

I assume it’s polarizing here so let see what y’all think? Any of their store brand stuff I should try?

Fresh fruit/veggies is pretty bad most of the time. Meat, cheese, dairy, frozen products, and alcohol are all pretty good IMO. Also cheaper than everywhere else including Walmart. I go here once a week

I like Aldi. Try the “red bag” breaded chicken breast on the brioche buns.

I went a couple weeks ago for the first time.. Big selection of Take and Bake pizza (7-10 bucks?).. A lot of cold dips (3-6 bucks).. I got some frozen eggrolls.. They were okay.. Got what they called knockwurst hot dogs... They were garbage...Prices for meat, chicken and sausage was grocery store prices nothing cheap about those prices.. They had wine for $3 a bottle, my friend got some and she said it wasn't bad.. I saw a loaf of bread for a $1.29? They had a very small dog food section..

I've never been impressed with there selection. I even went to one in europe last month and it was pretty dreadful there too.

I have sous vide a number of their angus strips and ribeyes. Seemed fine. I was not impressed with their strip steak. Pretty good deal on pistachios.

Aldi

Its a fun place to go to 3 or 4 times a year, like Trader Joe’s.

Would never do my regular shopping there, but its fun to try their frozen foods, bakery items, etc.

Prices are very inexpensive, and clientele is a lot less snooty and purple-haired like TJ’s.
