I was in Monticello yesterday afternoon. Did you see me riding Trigger between Joes Bayou Gin and the Tensas?

Last time I fished there was probably 1965 or so. Was an incredible Bream lake (our fish of choice) back then. We had relatives north of Ferriday and fished a lot of those lakes.
A long way to go from Meridian to catch a fish now.

cut off short overalls are a true pleasure in the summer.
Trigger and I was mainly hangin' out around the gin, kinda at hwy 134 , 581 and 881 turn offs. doin the usual stuff, parchin' peanuts, playin' checkers, eatin' watermelon and killin' water moccasins. would have loved to shared a pop and some cheat toes. maybe next time otis and I can meet you at the truck stop in twolulah.

That was where I thought I saw him. I had stopped to gas up the Chevytruck. $3.55 a gallon. Kin'da ripping off folks trying to get back to Missississippi. I think I got enough ssssses in it. Sometimes I miscount.
Bought a lottery ticket while we were there. Nice lady said they were really good numbers but I haven't checked to see if I won 60 million last night yet.
If I did, I'm buying diet Dr. Peppers and Cheetos by the case from here on out.

Can't believe you didn't go to Abe's in clarksdale. Best BBQ around IMHO, and that's some stuff competition being so close to Memphis. I go to clarksdale several times a year and always try to hit it up. I'll be going in a few weeks. Can't wait!

We drove past Abe's going in and leaving town and I think we have stopped there in the past. BBQ was not on our agenda though.
We talked about eating Dinner at Crawdad's in Merigold.

The food there is good, but I wanted Beer Joint food and the wife was accommodating, so we passed by places like Abe's to push on toward Blues music and beer.
