Yep. We used to explore that magical "kid superhighway" (i.e. ditch) between St. A and Southdowns Elementary. Always looked forward to a trip to exotic North Baton Rouge and the iconic restaurants therein. I was told by family that when I was a baby they'd take me back to the kitchen at a restaurant on far north Airline close to the bridge (Popeye's? -- not the chicken place) where I'd fall asleep on the counter.

The ditch was the scene of many kid built forts and swimming in it when it flooded.....awesome times. I was there between 1959 and 72........shoot me an email. Lived right at the corner of Mimosa St and Carl Ave

We probably know each other
