Epcot’s fish and chips are better than any version of the dish I have had in America as well as England. Let me preface this by saying I think cod is an inferior fish to haddock in terms of its use fried with fried potatoes. Haddock is firmer, has better flavor, and is not slimy as cod can be. Scotland, which holds haddock as the standard for fish and chips at all chippies, has the world’s best fish and chips. Yes, the haddock is better, but more, Scotland’s fish fryers are better and most corner chip shops use Ayrshire potatoes, which are Britain’s best potatoes, and rarely used in England. When in England, I seldom order fish and chips anymore for these reasons. In Scotland, I will order fish and chips ten meals in a row.

Epcot’s fish is usually cod, although occasionally they will use hake or tilapia. I will not get the fish and chips if they use tilapia, and always ask before ordering. Hake is good, and cod is okay. And again, I will put Epcot’s fried cod up against any English chippy using the typical cod.

Suggestions that Epcot’s fish and chips, when cod and hake are served, is not exceptional for American fish and chips are ridiculous.

Im legitimately not trying to be an arse. But people on TD seem to heap massive amounts of praise in anything disney world. Maybe they love Disney so they can pretend to not be in reality, so in turn the perception of the food is overstated. Or maybe they’re paying so much $$ for it, they don’t want to admit it’s not good? I dunno.

I’ve had FNC at several places in Houston (of all places) that were far superior to Rose and Crown. Is it a fun place to grab a drink? Sure. I’ll drink a pint there any day of the week. Is the food excellent? Not by a mile.
