Did y’all Blackstoners season your griddle when you bought it?

If so, what did you use for grease/oil? Or should I just load it up with bacon?

Season it with some oil. It is easy.

Crisco, rub it on, let it smoke, repeat.

Yep. Made a night of it.

Sat outside, drank a few beers, and seasoned it for a few hours.

Pretty sure I just used standard canola oil.

Still looks great after a year of use.

Follow the instructions and use oil. Mine is three years old and the cooktop looks fantastic and I leave it out all winter with a soft cover on it.

High heat, oil, watch it smoke.
Stops smoking
Repeat

Did mine 3 times then cooked a pack of bacon on it. Oil it after each use.

I did 4 times with canola oil over 2 days. Then I filled it full of burger patties, chicken thighs then and a bunch of vegetables. It griddled its arse off. Touché Blackstone.
