Aka, the State Police Cafeteria.
I went yesterday with my dad in between doctor appointments. We both got the smothered pork with rice and gravy and a sweet tator. He got the banana pudding. I got the coconut cake. They also offered chocolate chip cookies.
While in line waiting to pay, I believe someone said they reopened two weeks ago, but I can't confirm that is true.
I'm not 100% sure it's open to the public. However, they didn't say anything to us or try to kick us out. Nor were there any signs telling us it wasn't.
Their website says they are not open to the public, but I think they just haven't updated they site since the china virus.
However, there was a letter on the window talking about supply issues and price increases.
No masks were required. Nor was anyone wearing masks.
Only one side of the service line was open.
And instead of trays and plates and real silverware, you get it plated in to-go boxes and plasticware. But you are allowed to eat in the dining room.
The soda machines were working and they also had tea.
The menu is pretty much as it used to be. At least that's what we were told. Fried Chicken day is Wednesday. I will be back for that. Monday is red beans and rice. Tuesday is spitgatti or lasagna. Thursday was smothered pork chop. Friday I'm not sure, but in the past it was shrimp etouffee and chicken pot pie.
I also noticed a cucumber and tomato salad. And I believe a large chef salad. Both already in to-go containers.
And they are also open for breakfast.

I think I would take the lasagna over the spitgatti.
