Anyone got a killer crockpot baked beans recipe? Sure, I can figure out the basics, but tell me your tips/tricks. I plan to:
--soak the beans overnight
--put 'em on to cook w/a little minced celery, onion, garlic, brown sugar, touch of maple syrup, tomato puree or paste, water, little cumin, etc.

I'm figuring I might need to take the lid off once they're tender and cook for a couple hours uncovered to allow them to thicken.

Beans love vinegar. White or apple cider. Not much. Maybe 2 TBS.

Trimmings from brisket and Boston butts , bacon. A little minced smoked sausage. It’s all about the meats to me I’m elevating baked beans. You want little bits of meat in every bite!!

I use this one from Pioneer Woman. They're really tasty.

You could use the dried beans and incorporate the rest of the ingredients, although the canned beans work great. I think I used some of the Grillin's beans from Bush, last time. I also add some molasses to mine.

Beans are crocking right now. Prob another hour or so....
I ended up using diced bacon, brown sugar, tomato paste, onion, garlic, and some Steens. Put the bacon on bottom w some of the onions, added soaked dried white beans and water/seasonings, put the rest of the onions on top. I tasted the cooking liquid an hour ago and added salt. It’s a bit too sweet for me, but better half likes sticky sweet beans, so they will prob be a hit.

Got some Iverstine brats to cook to serve w the beans.

Too lazy to upload pics, sorry.
The liquid is finally starting to thicken. I’m at the 10 hr mark and I’d prefer them a bit softer. I think the cooker accidentally got switched to warm while I was out of the house for a couple hours. So I’m still crocking.

A ham bone puts them over the top.
