Crawfish Bisque at Don's on Johnston in Lafayette

We really enjoyed the crawfish bisque at Downtown Don's which is apparently not going to reopen. They sold frozen pints we'd buy when in town.
Is the bisque at Don's on Johnston the same? My Mom really wants some good bisque and I have someone in Lafayette who will deliver it to her.

I just spoke to Olivia who could firmed with the Mgr on duty. Don’s can sell you the crawfish bisque. It can be ordered “to-go” and packaged warm in a container. If you want it frozen, you’ll need to order it 24 hrs in advance so they can package and freeze it.
Edit: as for the same recipe taste & flavor … IDK. The Seafood Hut is owned by Donnie Jr. , who is from the same Landry family as downtown.

Thank you so very much! I take it you've had it and it's the same as Downtown Don's?
I can definitely give notice once I make arrangements. My niece is at ULL, so we'll see when she's next coming home and I'll order it before then.
Should I ask for Olivia or will anyone there know the deal?

See reply above as we were both typing at same time. Olivia answered the phone and likely the hostess ??? Pretty sure she advised me that you can call in the order and anyone can help you. To be on the safe side, I’d ask for the Mgr on duty, confirm their name, and place the bisque order for pickup for the appropriate time desired. Hope that helps

Yes, you've been a big help. I was going to call them, but I wanted to know if it was as good as Downtown Don's. Think I'll just take the risk since a family member owns it. Thanks again for all the info and doing the legwork!!!! You're a good guy!

No problem sista, people helping people. I know you and others on the FDB would do the same for me if I had a question about food, a specific recipe, or restaurant recommendation. If you’re interested, reach out to me and I’ll send your niece back home with some free seasonings as I own a Cajun seasoning business.
