You can't do both?

I guess I could try and I will try, but I don't get the shakes from not having a cocktail like I do when I'm out of pie.

Boo, that's just silly. No wonder the best you could do was HC86.

j/k Boo

And I'm done turning this into an O-T thray.

Had lunch here today and wanted to add a couple of quick observations.

I had the daily special Chicken and Dumplings and it was good. Not the best I have ever had but the darn good and the amount with two sides was perfect for lunch.

My tablemate had the BLT from which I was gifted a quarter, I have had it at the Jefferson location before but it was incredible today. Not sure if they have changed the bread for all locations but this one was on a different, more substantial bread and it really made the sandwich.

The chocolate cream pie was nothing to write home about. Again, decent but not the best I have ever had.

I went right at noon and the place was packed and parking was a bit difficult. Ended up parking on the grass/gravel on the side street. They got us seated fairly quick, maybe five minutes, and the working crowd seemed to be turning the tables fast.

My server, however, didn't seem to be handling the large crowd well. She was either distracted or high because her demeanor was... strange to say the least. She gave my guest the staredown when she ordered the BLT. Just stared at her for maybe five seconds after she ordered as if the one sandwich wasn't enough of an order or something. When we sat down there was a big sticky mess right where I put my arm so I used my napkin to clean it up and asked for a fresh napkin. She never brought one and disappeared from sight after taking our order. I asked a second server for a fresh napkin and she promptly went and got one and gave it to the next table. Our food came and I asked that server for a napkin, halfway through the meal (no napkin) I went into the server area and got a couple. No one even paused to ask why I was in their area or having to get napkins.

Despite the strange server issues and the napkin thing, it was a solid meal and I will be returning for that chicken fried steak.

BTW, the paper under the BLT on the tray was fine. No issues.

Had a few of the pies now, and that's kind of been my feeling. I hope they work on upping their pie game
