Now the real reason that people don't want to eat at chains: black people
I have no issue with balck people.
I have huge issues with people that don't know how to speak softly and treat their servers with respect. Those things sometimes overlap with certain ethnic groups, but that's not my fault.

I guess my point is, most places I've encountered actual "fresh" pasta seem to have known what they were doing. I've run across an occasional gummy or poorly made fresh pasta dish at places, but more often than not, it's exactly what it should be (or at least what I think it should be) -- and definitely a different experience (again, not necessarily better quality) than a dried pasta dish.
Sounds like a reasonable honest account of your experiences
Of course this neglects the fact that you have heightened expectations for the fresh pasta so it's tough to really have any sort of formal scientific control to your statement
At any rate, I understand not everyone likes OG. It does seem however that people don't even understand what the place is and what the place isn't. Seems to be a lot of ignorant assumptions about the place coming from all angles.

Like you, I've never had anything there I didn't like but I am amazed by the obsession with it by some and the hatred of it by others. Eat where you want, who gives a shite what everyone else thinks?
Using this logic let's just get rid of the Food and Drink Board all together, right?

No, there are legitimate discussions about retaurants.
You, on the other hand, just talk out of your arse about a restaurant you know little about because it's one of those damn "chains."

I wasn't gonna come out and say it.
But please add children to that. I don't do children. AT ALL.

Sounds like you and powerman are chain restaurant eaters who go on the severe defensive whenever anybody criticizes them because you don't like being associated with what they stand for and the clientele that frequent these places. You've become a slave to their marketing campaigns and it pisses you off that you can't break the habit.
So instead of looking inward, you get pissed off and lash out at other people who have the ability to say no to the great American machine that is the corporate-run restaurant business.

I very rarely eat at chains, but nice try.

I see you are also a bigot.

Oh yes, hating on chains makes you a unique individual.

because I don't enjoy being surrounded by uneducated mouth-breathers? k.

Who said this?
I think I'm going to eat at an Olive Garden this weekend btw. Afterall, it's just like dining at a sidewalk cafe in Florence!

Wrong. But what is sad is that you would actually consider that a legit insult.
As if chain restaurant eaters is somehow equivalent to people who beat their kids or something.

I was at an Outback once and saw a father get a little too violent with his son who was being too rambunctious.
True story.
True story.

Oh yes, no one with an education could possibly eat at a chain restaurant.
You start by saying you hate the food but then quickly switch your argument to your hatred of people you perceive as being in a lower class than you.
I gurantee the average Chili's bar occupier is much more fun to hang out with than an a-hole like you.

Are you capable of having a discussion void of strawmen arguments?

Not really
I shouldn't be too much of a dick to R2R though. He does provide some good input here. I was reading one of his reviews on the dining guide the other day and it was very useful to a friend of mine going to New Orleans.

It's a love-hate thing with R2R. Sometimes I want to strangle him, other times I want to give him a big ole hug.

Jesus, don't take what was clearly figurative speech and try to make it like I was being literal.

Doubtful. I'm rather fun to be around.

Yes. Quite often. I think that was the first I used in this thread. And it was completely in jest.

Glad to be of service. That's all I'm trying to do here.

I'd have sex with you too, LL.

I actually like the guy
I just like to give people a second thought about their assumptions and can be terribly rude about it from time to time
He just happened to catch the brunt of it. At least he doesn't cry like MDT and go on some 2000 word tirade about how I'm obsessed with him (which is sort of ironic)

You guys could have cured cancer with the mental effort you put into this thread.

Haven't kept up the last couple of pages, but did Rohan ever admit he was wrong and didn't know what he was talking about???
