no brother from Meridian, Philadelphia , Carthage, or Newton is going to put fried catfish in that soup...

Oh yeah, b/c fried catfish is such a haute dish to being with. GTFO with that shite. I don't know what that dish tastes likes and I don't know if Id like it but I can damn sure say it isn't any lower than fried catfish itself.

I grew up in BR, my surname is cajun french, and I moved to GA for a job but nice try though.

ETA Anyone who is hating on this just seems extremely closed minded. I have said time and time again in this thread that I have never had this dish but that I would try it. It may taste like crap but the ingredients all seem fine. Just like people who talk shite about tomatoes in jambalaya or gumbo, it doesn't make them taste bad, it just isn't something they are accustomed to. Funny thing is that if Anthony Bourdain posted this then you would all be jumping to try it.

My grandfathers nickname was papaw frenchy. Think you can get more cajun than that?

ETA My family is originally from Labadieville/White Castle.

You really want fried catfish swimming in a stew? Stfu you idiot. It looks like shite and I'm willing to bet it taste pretty close to how it looks.

I never said I wanted it. I just said I was open to trying it and that the ingredients all looked tasteful.
