Cast Iron Help

I had a well seasoned cast iron skillet and would oil after each use then heat it up.
I had some seasoning stick to it recently and scrubbed it with a chain mail scrubber.
Now when I put oil on the skillet, it’s not spreading out across the entire skillet, it’s almost as if the pan is either absorbing it or repelling it, but it evaporates immediately. (Skillet is at room temp when it does this)

Sounds like it may need reseasoning.

fry the shite out of some bacon in and scrub it off with salt & a wooden spoon a couple times and that should do the trick as well.

Mine is always in much better shape after cooking a big roux in it...
Good for the soul, and good for the cast iron.

I assume it was food stuck.
Are there any spots of bare metal?
Try heating pan before adding oil.
