Brunch at Le Creole was on point today

First time trying their brunch today and it is definitely notch above the popular BR brunch spots in atmosphere, quality, service, and consequently, cost.
All of the food was excellent. We started with the crabcake appetizer, which is pricy ($14) for a single crabcake, but it was damn near 100% lump crabmeat, very little breading. One of the best in town. We also shared a side Caesar salad. Standard ingredients, but perfectly executed.
She got the flatbread du jour for her entree, which had shrimp, a tomato cream sauce, onions, and mozzarella. It all came together very well. The highlight for me was my entree, a unique version of the croque-madame. It was smoked ribeye and cheese on a large slice of french bread, topped with a sunny duck egg. I loved it. Popped the egg and let the runny yolk drench the bread. An excellent combination of flavors. Portions were definitely adequate for both entrees.
The atmosphere/ambiance was nice for a brunch. They have a live jazz duo on piano and upright bass. Also, the service was excellent. Whenever our waiter got too busy, the FOTH manager was there for a coffee refill or whatever we needed. The food delivery was well spaced out for a leisurely brunch. We really enjoyed it.
Anyways, I felt obliged to report my good experience. I will be back for brunch. It's definitely a little more pricey than places like Chime's, Mason's, etc. but you get more in return.
On a side note, their new bar addition came out nice. Beer selection sucks though.

I've been there once for dinner and still think back on how awesome it was. I'm sure they do brunch right.
Sucks to hear about the beer selection though. Some of the higher end places around town should really fix that.
