Opening 10/17/18 in the old Nomanchers site on Mason Rd.

He used to work at Muellers BBQ.

Nice. I'll have to check this out. Not too far for a lunch run (I-10/ Beltway area).

Have you tried Daddy Duncan's food truck out in Katy? I saw he swept the HOU BBQ competition, so I imagine he's got pretty good stuff.

I don't think they opened on 10/17 as advertised.

Not sure if they've opened yet. Will post once I do try it.

It's open. Facebook showed they opened on Wednesday.

I went today for lunch. Pretty good, but not top tier with Feges/Truth/Killens. Definitely better than Rudy's and whatever else is local to this area.

Pretty non-descript storefront.

Looks like they're fully open and settled on these days/hours:

Had some brisket and pork ribs recently.

Some observations:
- Located in the old Nonmanchers (of Let's Play Cowboys and Iranian fame)
- Parking lot is not big-truck friendly.
- We Katy residents have been hoping for a top-shelf, local joint for a while so I have high-hopes for Brett's.
- Kind of disappointed. I realize this is like week #2 since he opened so I'll give it another go in a few weeks.
- Brisket was meh. Kind of dry/tough, needs more black pepper, and had inadequate smokage (I just coined that word). IMO, Rudy's is better.
- Ribs were ok. Better than other Katy area offerings but not near Roegels, Corkscrew, Pecan Lodge quality.

This will probably fit the bill for you
daddy Duncan's getting a B&M place

That's way too far out for me unless make a special trip, but if I'm driving an hour for BBQ,I'm heading to Truth.
