Week #1- The Bulldog for their hamburger. My one friend claims its up there with Raul's.
The Bulldog's burger is FAR from the worst in town, but it's no Raul's burger. In my opinion.
Add the ribs from Pimanyoli's to your list.

I like the versions of pad thai at both of these places, but neither are THAT good. The best is at LA Thai Uptown.

Tramonte's killer prime rib poboy.
Had this today and it was freaking fantastic. It is huge, very generous with the meat, and tasted great. Highly recommend

I know, I know. I guess my point was that neither of the two BR pad thais are worth going out of your way for.

Alright...tonight we are heading to the Bulldog for their hamburger. To me...I am a Riverside Patty guy so that is what I am comparing it to.
If I had to rank Hamburgers in Baton Rouge, it would be:
1a. Riverside Patty
1b. Jim's on False River (I don't know if they still serve it but it was great back in the day)
2. Parrot's *(Bueche's Bar)-False River
3. George's
I have not had 5 Guys.
But I have had the Cajun Shrimp Burger from Mason's (Food Network Magazine's Best hamburger in La.) and I was not a fan. I have had Tramonte's hamburger, but not the real big one.
To me a good hamburger fits in your mouth and does not fall apart...that's kinda the whole reason for the bun...to deliver the meat to your month.
I will let you know my thoughts on the Bulldog Burger

probably one of my least favorite, unless they have stopped overcooking them

Nope...but I agree. They mostly over cook them, but if you can get one that is not over cooked, its my favorite.

Charlie's, just west of Springfield. 16 oz ribeye, or any seafood. It's worth a trip.

We had the Bulldog Burger and I would give it a B+. It met my personal criteria for a good burger. It was not to big you could not get your mouth on it...it did not fall apart or get soggy. I liked the shredded cheese.
Only problem was it was a little over cooked. But that is fixable.
All and all...if you are there and hungry...get it, it will satisfy you.
Next up...Poccarella's.
