Bone from a pork shoulder..good or bad for a dog?

I pulled the bone from the butt I smoked yesterday and gave it to the dog..when I looked outside he had eaten about half of it and I took it away afraid it would hurt him.
I know he gnaws on marrow bones all the time..but the pork bone seemed a little 'soft' and he had half of it devoured in about 20 minutes.

He'll love you more. It won't hurt him at all.
