That's what I do, PM, except that I have a glass top electric range. So, I boil the eggs for only 3 minutes and let coast the rest of the way.

If you put a teaspoon of vinegar and a tablespoon of salt in the water, the egg will peel more easily.

I am presently using one of those F up stoves, geezum I can't stand the damn thing as temperature control is practically impossible with it. The sad part about that is that twelve feet away sits a gas water heater, so there should have been a gas stove in the house from the get go.

Wait, chicken or ostrich eggs? After a 2-3 minute boil then a tight fitting lid for 12 minutes, I'm not sure how you came up with runny yolks. That doesn't make sense.


Maybe he lives in high altitude. Could definitely change things.
