Yes.

I haven't eaten it just by itself though, only with fresh berries, but damn it's incredible.

Not sure what the "creole" means, but it's not spicy, just sweet delicious cream cheese flavor.

I'm not sure if it's a new flavor, but I first had it in Grand Isle over the Easter holidays. We had picked a bunch of blackberries and my wife went to the Sureway and bought some strawberries and the ice cream. She sliced up the strawberries and added a bunch of blackberries in a large ziplock bag and the combined juices was amazing with this ice cream.

Just go to a large supermarket that has a good selection of Blue Bell, I'm sure they'll have it.

typical blue bell ingredient list

quote:

Milk, Cream, Sugar, Skim Milk, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Cellulose Gum, Vegetable Gums (Guar, Carrageenan, Carob Bean), Salt, Annatto Color.

i dont think i'm an ice cream snob, but i've never understood the reverence for fake ice cream when there's dozens of brands out there using just natural ingredients

It refers to the style of the cream cheese. Creole cream cheese is tangier and zippier and a little sweeter than your standard Philadelphia cream cheese.

That New Orleans Ice Cream Co. cream cheese ice cream with some fresh berries or a little drizzle of good balsamic is the GOAT.

Anything they make, really, is good. That's a good ice cream. If you've ever had the ice cream at the soda shop in the WW2 museum, that's the brand they use.

I agree - Haagen Dazs vanilla bean and strawberry ice creams are great examples of this.

I dont really care what it's made with, I just care about the taste and texture.

Gonna have to try that New Orleans brand creole cream cheese.

Their Ponchatoula strawberry and Chocolate City (yeah, they did that) are REALLY good, too. A scoop of each of the three isn't quite Neapolitan, but it's good and, truth be told, I like the cream cheese better than vanilla in that trio.
