I have a cover and notice there was a tiny hole at the top of one of the corners of the griddle.

I took cover off and now I have rust in both left corners. Its especially bad in the bottom left corner underneath the hole where the grease catcher starts

how to combat this?

I will be buying a new cover but need to fix this rust problem

i'm confused...did the rust eat a hole in the griddle? if not, just scrape clean and reseason, you'll be fine. if it ate up the griddle, you should replace it. new cover for sure.

Reseason a couple of times and you should be back to good.

Best way to season:

Turn on high, lightly oil, rub oil around and let that start to smoke a good bit. Kill fire, wipe off with paper towel. Repeat process. I’ve done this method about 5-6 times in a row and no rush whatsoever since.
