What’s the best process and best oil to use for seasoning the grill?

Honestly I think you can just follow the book instructions. I used avocado oil.
Do it like you do cast iron, use as little oil as possible, thin thin layer, and let it cook until its done smoking. Repeat.

I’ve been using flax oil on my cast iron for several years after reading some suggestions on seasoning from a guy that refurbished old pieces he finds and sells them on eBay. Pretty happy with my results.

1st, you need to wash it to get off whatever shite they put on at the factory. When you have it nice and clean turn on your burners and let it get smoking hot. Spray it with some oil based cooking spray. Let it smoke, spray it again, do that about 4 or 5 times and it will be nice and seasoned. Takes about an hour.
After I cook I use a stiff blade 6" putty knife and scrape off any food scraps. Then spray it with some water and wipe it down with a paper towel. Turn the burners on high then spray it with some cooking spray. Let it cool and cover it.

Flax seed is what I used. Don’t overthink it. It’s iron.
