That's why you get multiple decanters and have the best of both worlds.

A proper decanter is aerating during the pour anyway.

Thanks for all the help, guys. 
This is what I decided:
I got a vinturini aerator for when I want just one glass
And this decanter for when I anticipate drinking the whole bottle: Le Chateau Wine Decanter - 100% Hand Blown Lead-free Crystal Glass

you can still hold the aerator above the carafe while pouring the entire bottle in it.
