Best place to buy crawfish in Houston

I typically use the crawfish app but I have a hard time believing HEB's have the best price. Anyone else got a better place? Current price in town on the app is showing $3.50. Crawfish farmers are probably claiming Ukraine/Russian war if we are still seeing $3.50 in late March.

HEB probably has the best prices but hit or miss with size/quality. i've used Spanky's in Richmond and their crawfish are legit but usually a little high (not by much). Their only pickup times are on Fridays and Saturday.

On Saturday I bought love from Swamp Donkeys in Kingwood for $3.25. The truck came in at about 4. They were all fantastic. HEB was $3.77.
2-3 weeks before I bought from the same place and they were small and a lot of dead. He said that was February and this is March so better now.

Driving out to Crawfish Shack in Crosby is worth it. By far the best quality I have found around Houston and the sacks are reasonably priced.

Owner is a good dude. Also worth patronizing his place for good pork steaks.

Their smoked sausage is good but their garlic pan sausage is fantastic. Great small time shop. We go to Kovasovic’s as often as we can.

Yeah $3-$3.25 is great. That shite is like a hour away from me. Luckily my local spot is close at $3.25. At least last weekend. Cash only.
