La Pagua best I have tried so far

Note:
Have been a regular at LaFonda's for more years than I can recall. Don't eat there very much anymore, but if the best food on the menu is fried rabbit, doesn't say much for the place anymore. Carne Asada was like shoe leather last time the wife ordered it. Still go there for drinks once in awhile. Can't stand that I have to outside to smoke. Oh well......

Yea brah. La morenita is legit. That's probably the most authentic around.

La Pagua is good. Our new favorite is La Carreta. It's downtown across from Marley's.

La pagua wins. We are heading to blue agave in about an hour. Also pretty decent. La hacienda is the most bland Mexican food I have ever eaten.

The people who recommend la Fonda for their food are probably the same people who go and ride their bike in River Ranch to make it look like they live there

go to la pagua or la fonda

La Hacienda and El Portrillo are essentially the same thing, bland crap.

Posado's has some good things; Chile Relleno, Tacos al Carbon, and real refried beans, the rest is same as above.

La Pagua has some good things as well, but they also have some El Portrillo / La Hacienda bullshite too. No homemade tortillas and their burritos are garbage. Agave, well what do you expect from Palestinians cooking Tex-Mex. Same goes for Azteca's.

Picante is also hit or miss w/ a couple items.

Bottom line is there is no go to place for Mex/ Tex-Mex in Laffy.

It depends on what particular thing you're going to eat ? Pick that spot and go with it.

ETA; I agree with the La Fonda summary, "Taco Bell with booze". And that is not an exaggeration.
