So I would have never believed it but I ended up with a king cake from NY Bagel. Very good. Very fluffy with a small to moderate amount of cream cheese. Not a messy amount. Icing was great.

I’ve eaten half the cake today and it’s probably over a foot wide.

How can anyone think Rouses has a good king cake? They are terrible. Dry and overcooked.

BR and NOLA kingcakes are different.

The best NOLA kingcakes are usually more representative of BR kingcakes.

Besides Randazzos. Assume that is a legacy cake.

I had Rouses and Ambrosia a few days apart. Rouse's was good.

I heard recently that Caluda's which are at Maxwell's and Costco are cousins of the Randazzo's family. Would be interested to know if that's accurate.

I've had Celauda's, Randazo's and every other big name from New Orleans this year.
I get the advice on this page but try District Donut. It's fricking awesome.
