I use to pack a lunch 4 days a week and eat out once a week....it helps if you drive a refrigerated truck
The problem with route sales is that the hours tend to be long and early so you tend to eat your lunch earlier than most people....its important to bring healthy snacks too
Overall would not tell anyone to do this as a living....the money is not there anymore and the hours are long...

ight sound silly but carry a small ice chest with you to work. Get one of those frozen ice packs to put in their to cool it down and you can bring sandwiches/wraps from home or just to have a place to put food in in case youre busy and have to leave in a hurry. Frozen bottles of water work just as well

I drive a route for work as well and this is what I do. Meat and cheese, an apple and a drink. You out your mind if you are spending crazy money on lunch everyday.

Like the other guy said, just stop in Albertsons or Rouses & make you a fresh salad or grab the little $4 wraps.

Also 90% of the Rouses have microwaves in there section where you sit down and eat. I would always stop on my routes and warm up my leftovers.
..and most of these big new RaceTrac gas stations also have a microwave and usually a place to sit.

I've also done my own homemade P3 packs with a meat cheese and nuts to munch on all throughout the day for about 20 years now.

Yeah, I'll buy the p3 packs at Kroger when they go 10/$10.

I also make sure to put my apple under the ice pack. Nothing better than an ice cold apple on a hot arse truck.
