I've been going to Galatoire's in New Orleans since the 80s, but sporadically because I've never been impressed. I mean, it's OK for what it is, but it's not going to make me go out of my way and certainly, if I'm in New Orleans the original is way, way, way down the list of places I might visit. Basically, somebody else in my party has to insist on it (for some reason).
Wasn't impressed with the Highland exit location either. The re-opening didn't do much for me.
And Pinetta's? Really? You're kidding, right? It's not even the best Italian in its own neighborhood.

Portico must survive due to location and booze sales. The outside patio/bar area is ok. But, the food is largely average/mediocre with slow service.

I like Pinettas -- haven't been there in a while, though. But it's not as good as Gino's.

You left off New Orlean's Poboys which has some good gyro and roast beef poboys. Oriental Pearl is a pretty solid little Chinese place.
I'd also add Chimes East.
