Flu I got to agree with you Hawks is the best I have every eaten (and most expensive). I had gotten to the point I no longer ate boiled crawfish (bad experience in N. Louisiana with eating crawfish that tasted muddy). A friend of mine from Laffy kept asking me about Hawks - which I had not heard about and lived 10 miles from it all of my life. Finally found where it was and so we go. She ordered crawfish and I ordered a hamburger. She starts eating and keeps going on and on about how good they are and finally I said let me try one. It took me about a minute to get the waitress over there and ask her to throw away the hamburger and bring me an order!
I love the way they grade their crawfish - during the right time of the season they are huge (not tough) and it has something to do with the areated (sic) tanks they use to clean the crawfish.
They are some good eatin!

Hawks is a good spot but why go to a restaurant to get boiled crawfish? Having a boil and inviting everyone over for the social gathering of the week is what its all about.
Not for me it's not. I have no clue how to boil crawfish, nor do I have the $$ to pay for someone else to boil them. For me, I load up a couple carloads of family and friends, and make a weekend trip out of our excursion to Hawk's. We go to Hawk's Saturday eve, then go to Evangeline Downs, and then Sunday morning we go to Blue Dog Cafe for brunch. For me, that's what it's all about.

Rocky's in Bunkie
The Jungle in VP
And sometimes a random drive-thru beer barn can have some darn good ones.
Is there anywhere serving them now ?
