So in her usual fashion.... my mother asks me what i want for christmas and i tell her and then she proceeds to find something on sale like it..... but never the actual product or brand name i ask for.
I asked for a Le Creuset or a Staub pot. I got this Bella stuff, which i basically can't find anything about online. It was bought from Macys. Anyone know if its worth a shite? She told me it was expensive.....
I wanted to say so is the le crueset....

Could you return it and get the LeCreuset without hurting her feelings?

Bella Cucina is a Macy's house brand enameled cast iron pot. Sells for $30-50..
I've not used them personally, but I spotted them while shopping with the wife two weeks ago. Looks serviceable but definitely not on par with what you wanted..
If you really want LC or Staub just take it back..

yeh, thats what i'm thinking. I went to macys when i went back home on saturday. It was at the one in laffy. don't remember seeing le creuset in there? If i were to guess, i'd say those frickers went on her Macys card so unless there is le crueset or staub there i'd imagine i'm stuck.

Possibly,.. but the truth is you are going to have to spend your own money to get LC or Staub anyway. So whats the big deal if you dont get the $30?

No big deal man..... was just responding to the post. They do carry them, but don't think they have them in laffy. Also, not really sure what the "you'll have to buy them" means, but my parents can more than afford the pot. My mother is a sucker for a good deal, so i assume thats why she picked them up. Anyways, i'm gonna use them and see how they cook..... if i don't care for them they will turn into some camp pots. Joining all the other cast off cooking items......

I wasnt implying anything. I probably should have just said that if you want LC or Staub then go buy them and forget the money from the return..

The 5 qt. is on sale at Macy's for $59.99.
Macy's does have the Le Creuset pots. ( if they don't carry it in the store, they will ship it to you). The 5.5 qt. is $229.99.

thanks red...... i just looked them up earlie.
Worst case they will turn into camp pots..... i'll use them for a little while and then bring them to the camp. Then i'll pick up some le creuset. Just found out from the lady that she knows the girl who owns the local kitchen store and can get a good cut off the price. In same said conversation i asked why the hell hasn't she told me this before! Just said it never crossed her mind..... we went in that store the other day!

Yeah, I have one and it has been more than sufficient. Not sure how one enameled pot could be worth 5 times the price, but I guess it could have its advantages.

I have two Le Creusets. I bet your pot will do just fine.
If you like it, you can probably get a full set for what my wife paid for two Le Creusets.
The one thing you will need is the metal knob for the lid. The plastic/bakelite knobs eventually get brittle and crack. Go ahead and get a metal one now.
The biggest thing is having a flat bottom and good enameling, which gets sorta funky after a few months anyhow.
