Houston: 1
Dallas: 0
NOLA: 9

Houston and Dallas are great cities in a lot of ways, but can we stop this farce that they are somehow better foodie cities than NOLA?

At least NOLA can hang their hat on something.

Only Houston cares about that.

Just like only Houston cares about comparing their food scene to New Orleans.

Yeah but you likely won’t get shot trying to go to dinner in Houston or Dallas. That’s got to count for something?

Sorry, but no. NOLA's unique culture is what enables us to create such great restaurants in the first place. All of that culture, good and bad, must be protected. Stop being a wimp.

5 of the 9 nominations are national, not regional, categories.

So that means the 7 Houston semifinalists suck?

You're arguing with yourself. No one does that. Select cuisine types, yes. But not an overall food scene.
