I grow Contender beans a lot to and they are great for a bush bean. The Blue Lake pole beans last a little longer and I just felt like pole beans this year. I have half a bag of Contender seeds in my refrigerator.

When my potatoes are about ready to harvest, to check them I push back some dirt and normally pull a few out then cover the plant back up. Then I take them home and just put in simmering water until just cooked through. Split, add butter and salt and pepper. With green beans those are the best new potatoes I’ve ever eaten. I look forward to those as much as the first vine ripened tomatoes.

How come the stores don't carry fresh butter beans and fresh Crowder peas in the store anymore....
