I might get hated on for this. But I really enjoy the Melting Pot. I don't go all out though because it gets ridiculous. I usually get the cheese and chocolate. I prefer the garlic and herb cheese and the yen yang chocolate. Believe it or not you will be full by the end I promise. It'll cost around $40 depending on how much you drink.

dont worry too much about the food, most girls don't wanna eat infront of a guy the first few dates. sushi is always a good choice if she's into it.

to post a serious response, I would pick an LSU baseball game.
1. Enough entertainment to fill in the dead times in conversation.
2. Enough dead time in the game to give you opportunity for conversation.
3. You are not sitting looking right at each other.
4. You get some idea of how how maintenance she is.

Pinetta's, Digiulio's, Ichiban's, Marcello's. Stay away from chain restaurants. I went to Marcello's last week...app, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, and 2 glasses of wine came out to $75 including tip, which I think is reasonable for a first date. Now if you can put aside your manhood for about 2 hours, I would go to The Silver Spoon over there on Corporate for lunch. Really good sandwiches and salads and the atmosphere will most likely suit your date's taste.

Pinettas isn't what it used to be before the change in ownership 10 years ago but it is still money and a cheap place to make a girl melt because it appears to be a classier place than it is
I have only been there once and it was my first and last time. Our waiter was awful and when we tried to talk to the owner (yes, OWNER) she was zero help and just as rude. The food was not worth putting up with all that nonsense.
On a happier note, my first date with my S.O. was to Albasha off Corporate. We both like Greek and the food is good, not too expensive, and the service is just the right speed (quick enough to avoid awkward silence, but slow enough to let you talk).
Good luck on your date!

My first date with my current gf of 2 years, we did take out from Jason's for lunch and went and had a picnic on the lakes. It was solid.

Every time i have a first date i go to a Mexican place. Its cheap, fun, casual, everyone loves it and on top of it all...margaritas.
If she doesn't like Mexican than she isnt worth it

Update:
Chelseas - Wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to the food. But solid meal. Good first date place. Not too expensive. Not too cheap. Good food.
Spin/Art dip - Very good. Would get again
Smoked Pork Loin - Very good 12 bucks or something like that it is a very good choice.
Fail on my part
- She said that's her favorite. Hey no question as where to go next time.
