Any idea how you'd recommend to cook it for someone without a smoker?

I would put it in the over straight on the rack or onto a cooking sheet that has the vents. Place the beans on a rack underneath to catch the drippings.

It took me about 5/6 hours on 250. I was having trouble with my smoker temp, and it was my first time using it. Use a thermometer is my only advice.

This is a really stupid question, but do you eat the burnt bacon? Is there a way to do it without burning the bacon?

It wasn't burned, it just turned black quick while smoking. I'm actually not sure why it did that so fast, but it was GOOD
