I enjoyed Barley Swine more than Uchiko...

But I'm mostly just giving you a hard time. Calm down.

I know. There was only so much I could fit into my schedule. I definitely need to make more trips there. I feel like I barely scraped the surface.

Barley Swine was amazing...but I would NOT go with this group. It's VERY VERY VERY expensive, and unless you have a fortune to spend, you'll leave hungry. I was thankful we had gone to the social hour at Uchiko before going to Barley Swine.

I would HIGHLY recommend the brunch at Fonda San Miguel. That would be a great option for a group and the food is soooo good!

I didn't find Barley Swine that expensive There is not a dish on the menu over $20. Me and the wife had a wonderful meal with 7 plates, drinks, and dessert for right around $100.

Only there 2 nights, but Torchy's, John Mueller, a strip club I suppose, i hear Expose is good. We're staying right near campus, so any tips appreciated.

Thinking Barley Swine, Whip-In, Uchiko and Kome perhaps. My buddy's a ramen head so maybe Ramen Tatsu-ya.

I hear Hopfields and Midnight Cowboy are good places to catch a drink.

Anyone wanna help plan me a bachelor party?

You say it like that's an entrée price! No, nothing is over $20. But they also recommend getting 3-4 plates per person!

If you got 7 plates with dessert, tax, tip and drinks, there is no way on earth you got outta there for $100.

Agreed. I thought Barley Swine was amazing and really reasonably priced. According to the current menu, the plates average about $12-$13, so you can easily do 8 plates and barely break $100 for food. I think that's pretty great considering the quality of the food.

I supposed you did ok, but I wouldn't waste a meal on Ranch 616.

La BBQ or J Mueller are adequate replacements for Franklin's. If you get the beef rib there, you're doing as good or better than Franklin's brisket in my book.
