If your hotel is near the airport, there won’t be any dining options close by other than the hotel restaurant. Grab an Uber and head back towards downtown and try Gunshow in Glenwood Park. Or head over to the westside where The Optimist and Miller Union are located. Miller Union’s chef/owner won a James Beard Award a few years ago

Spondivots, Virginia Ave, by airport is your answer. Good bowl of gumbo and great steamed crab legs....although both pricey for a such a casual place...usually lively as well.

I wouldn’t get out of my car in that part of Atlanta. East Point and College Park have the highest crime rates in the state.
And you’d recommend an average bar/grill in the worst hood in the state for an out of town visitor? Nice.

Holeman & Finch if you're an adventurous eater is out of this world.
