Going on my honeymoon in Asheville, NC this summer and was wondering if anyone knew of any good restaurants to go to. Preferredly one of the more romantic and/or higher-end restaurants in the area. Ideas??

Most restaurants in Asheville source locally and are into the organic thing. I go their for business and most of the high end restaurants there are small with a nice atmosphere.

I always like Corner Kitchen its consistent and the owners are always there.

Had lunch at Table it was very good as well

I always wanted to go to Fig haven't made it there yet.

Tupelo Honey is good food but make a reservation especially for Sunday brunch, the downtown location by the square is the best I think.

Early Girl Eatery is great for breakfast/lunch especially of you like organic food and the whole "granola people experience"!

Chocolate Fetish is fun if you like chocolate at all, they make everything and their truffles are incredible and I never eat chocolate so it has to be special.

All of these places are in the Downtown area

Use Open Table to check menus and look at the restaurants it will link to websites to their website if there is one.

I went to Asheville (actually, stayed in Weaverville) for my honeymoon as well. There are some good places downtown. The ones I remember are Havana, a Cuban restaurant, and S&W, which used to be a cafeteria but is now a nicer place ("S&W" now means "steak and wine").

S&W would be a better "romantic" place. When we went, we were one of about three tables there that night, although I think they had just reopened as a steak place when we were there, so they may be busier now. I would guess the Biltmore would have a nice dinner, but it would probably be vastly overpriced (although you should go to see the grounds/house and spend several hours there).

I would recommend putting together a list of places you'd like to eat, then just walk around downtown and see if something else catches your eye. There are plenty of options, and most of them are good.

Great new place is Sazerac and its next door neighbor Tingles Cafe, both owned by a couple from New Orleans who used to own the Howlin' Wolf.

I don't know that Tupelo Honey qualifies as a romantic restaurant but the food is good! The free biscuits they serve are really good.
