Anyone ever make mushroom ketchup?

Caught this recipe on YouTube a few days ago. Looks interesting.
Essentially, Europeans tried to copy oyster sauce from China but wasn’t sure what it was made of. They made a concoction known as mushroom ketchup.
Anyone made anything like this?

I like to mix black pepper and liquid smoke in mine. Best friend I ever had taught me this before he went and died on me. He was a good guy who knew how to properly doctor up his ketchup.
For you Jackson guys the "Que Sera Sera" bar and restaurant, across North State from Walker's, also did their ketchup this way. Miss that place and their good food.
I bet Mushroom Ketchup would be good.

I only make what I will eat that one time. Not like it is hard to mix up. The only problem I ever encounter is with the fast-food places that use those little corrugated paper packs of salt and pepper. Sometimes I will add five or six packs before I get enough pepper mixed into my ketchup, because they put so little pepper in the packages now.

I always have a bottle in the fridge, although I use his original recipe that has more vinegar.

Just an aside, I like Healthy Boy or Pearl River Bridge mushroom soy sauce.
It tastes more savory and less salty(probably not) than regular soy sauce.

I just tasted a small batch I mixed last night. That's what the secret sauce tasted like.
