Considering experimenting and injecting some beef broth into the brisket after the first 5 hours. Anyone ever tried this or a variation?

Turned out pretty good. I think it enhances the flavor slightly.

Personally, I don't see the reason for doing that. I've never had a smoked brisket be anything other than juicy when finished smoking.

But, live and learn, and you may be on to something. I doubt it would hurt the meat in any way.

You're gonna delay the cook by taking the brisket off the heat to inject...then you're going to drop the internal temp significantly by injected a room temp liquid into it. I fail to see the upside of doing this at the 5 hour mark.

Either do it before starting...or after it's smoked, rested and sliced have a small pan of your broth mixture on hand to dip your flat slices into.

So I heated up some beef broth in the microwave and injected a couple ounce without taking it off the smoker. We will see how it ends up.

Right? It's going to change the internal temp for sure. It would appear that he's trying to prevent a dry brisket instead of cooking it correctly which will prevent dryness.

No my brisket is never dry I’m sure you can still find pictures of several different cooks on here. I just like to experiment, never know when you might stumble on something incredible.
