Any restaurant recs for San Francisco/ San Mateo?

Going to a wedding for the weekend, never been. Not really even sure what type of cuisine if any this area is known for

Great Chinese food: Dragon Beaux, R&O Lounge, Z&Y Restaurant
Other cuisines: SPQR, Mourad, Gary Danko, Quince are all great
If you're into omakase, Ju-ni & Omakase are both excellent.

Sam Wo "inexpensive" Chinese one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in the US

If you want a serious meal:
Gary Danko
Atelier Crenn
Quince
Acquerello
Campton Place the best Indian you may ever have
Benu
Californios Mexican
Man Resa it is down in Los Gatos but worth the trip
There are lots to crap on SF about but food isn't one of them. Along with NY, San Francisco has a huge number of Michelin stars and has far more than NY per capita by a long shot. One of the big draws for me is seriously upscale versions of just about any cuisine you can think of.
Oh before I forget if you like breakfast try Sweet Maple and do not miss the millionaire's bacon. Lots of other places have it now including the sister restaurants of Sweet Maple but Sweet maple is the best I have had. I assume it is the same for the sister restaurants (you can look up the names). Unless inflation has killed them the bacon at Sweet Maple is several times thicker than the other places that have copied it.

I haven't been to SF in a long time but I liked State Bird Provisions, Burma Superstar, and Brandy Ho's.
