After going through all the trouble of finding this stuff, you knew it was going to be a big disappointment and it was. No hint of vanilla or chocolate, tasted like old skunky Budweiser. I'm glad I only bought two bottles.

I don't think you bought the right beer.

I like the beer actually, i don't get the hate. The chocolate/toffee taste comes at the beginning, and i definitely get the vanilla in the aftertaste.

Don't understand the hate. And it, in no way, tastes like fricking budweiser.

Knock yourself out, and save me a few.

Btw way I did end up tasting the vanilla, while I was brushing my teeth before bed.

Ice cold Bud is better.

To each his own i guess.

I'm a self admitted beer snob though, and i like this beer. The only time i'll reach for a bud is when i'm drinking in mass quantities, tailgates, beer pong, etc...

But if i'm going to relax and have a beer with supper, or just sip, i'll go with this, or Sam Adams Oktoberfest, or a homebrew (whenever it is finished).

most of the hate here isn't for the beer, it's for abita's consistent averageness

like how would you feel if your kid had a 130 IQ but kept bringing home C's? There's nothing wrong with a C in and of itself, but you just know the kid could do so much better.

Well said.

Usually an Abita supporter. Got my first bottle of this stuff tonight. Underwhelmed to say the least. A little vanilla after-aroma and taste. But zero body to it, it was almost watered down.

I enjoyed it enough to think a $5 bomber was worth trying it out.

I'm learning more and more what I like and what I don't, and most importantly why. I've been traveling a lot so I'm drinking a lot of different stuff from all over. If I wanted to be a beer snob about it, I'd say my palate is getting more refined. Sadly, I may be turning a corner on Abita, I really don't want too.
