Pic of River from New Orleans levee today.

This is near the Parish line. The river level is probably 10-15 ft above River Road here.

Start digging though with a shovel on the grassy side of the levee and see how long it takes you to get water flowing through. j/k

I think I saw you by Ochsner taking pics. And yes, it's at least that over River Road.
On a side note, I wish all the gawkers would have the courtesy to at least move to the grass so others can pass.

Yeah there were a lot of people taking pics. That section of the levee behind Ochsner is one of the few sections where all the trees are gone so you get a good view.

Yeah, they just uprooted all the existing trees recently. They put in some type of mesh and then loaded rocks onto the bank for erosion purposes on the bend I would guess. All that is under water big time now.

Crazy that it's that high right there. I took a picture on the levee yesterday down the road in Harahan and it was barely past the tree line. You could still see all of the grass leading up to bottom of the back of the levee.
