very dumb question...text outline colors

trying to make numbers similar to the oregon scheme...the 2nd jersey, with the grey numbers and yellow outlining...how would one go about donig that in PS or snagit?

There may be an easier way, but here's how I did it in PhotoShop CS3.
Create new file: background color - appropriate shade of yellow.
Type in the number you want.
Use magic wand to select around the number. Then Select -> Inverse. Then Select -> Modify -> Expand, 1 pixel.
Merge down.
Edit -> Cut
Create another new file - transparent
Go back to first file, use the Move Tool to move your number to the second transparent file.
Save As.

Its called STROKE. Much easier than the post above. Double click on the layer, and Stroke is an option. If you right click on the layer, its under blending options.

Thanks for the tip. Much simpler, but I'm having trouble getting the color I want - the Stoke command wants to outline my numbers in red. How to pick a different color?
