hey all my favorite farkers, our site is gonna be up by tomorrow mourning according to the web-mistress 
check out the new front page till then!
btw, the guy in the pic on the front page with the dogs is gonna have a story done on him on greta van susteren for his work saving animal shelter animals so they can be adopted (my father)

Thought the site looked great.
I was thrown for a loop when i saw this
Had to read it like 4 times to figure out what it was saying. Think there needs to be a period after pet and start new sentence with adopt. Just looks like you're saying not to buy one or adopt one.
Never was an English major so it might just be me.

I like the "old journal/notebook" feel to it - like you're discovering secret wisdom. Exactly what the "hometown favorite" should convey.
I don't know if it's my browser/java needing an update or the fact that it's a work in progress - but the text on the first page is going beyond the area that it seems it should - overlapping the background...
I'm not sure who your main competitors are - but I would think your site shows far more vision and heart than theirs. Hopefully that translates into sales for you.
