Tiger splashing in water

I have tried to use that photo for projects before. The real problem is the incredible detail of the water. If you ever try to render an image with splashing water, you will fully understand the difficulty. Sometimes hair presents the same challenges. And you have both water and hair in this source! Tough.
It is really hard to create anything seemless.
The color change creates an impressive effect but you could likely find a source that illustrates that technique better.

Your right it was time consuming work and the longer I looked at it the more detail would appear. I put more time in the left side of the splash where the water meets the sky than I did no the left. I also wrestled with the water and hair at the tigers chin.
I stumbled across a tutorial on YouTube where they took splashing water and made it look as if it turn into fire. I was starting to practice it and decided to LSU it up at the last minute with the tiger pic.
