Wow you definitely raised the bar on this one. If you don't mind me asking, do you do you work in computer graphics for a living or has this been more or less a hobby? Just curious because you seem to be at a level far beyond most of us here. I have wondered the same about timdallenger with some of the impressive work he puts up.

I've always dabbled in some kind of art. I was taking xacto knives and glue sticks to magazines about as far back as I can remember. In HS I really settled into Pen&Ink and REALLLLLLLLY detailed colored pencil stuff... took some art electives on my way to an Advertising/PR degree in college. After stints in marketing with a couple professional sports organizations - I began to work on the Advertising side (mostly as an AE and copy writer). FASCINATED by the Creative side of it though and was always tight with the "other side" when it came to developing customer strategy.

Burned out being cooped up in an office all the time (even when I had my own agency) and went back to working in bar/restaurant/hospitality. Dallas was a great place to be for this sort of thing in the late '90s... Lots of new trendy clubs and flavor-of-the-week DJs and entertainers. I started out with Photoshop 4 in I think '98 - designing fliers for DJs/Raves etc... led to designing cover art for some local musicians as well as print advertising/menus and such for a few trendy clubs. After 9/11 I moved back to NOLA and entered a computer ice age and kinda went stagnant. Emerged from my cave post-Katrina and have really focused on it in my spare time the past 3 years or so. I'm self-taught and have much to learn.

:grabskleenex: You know, 8 or 10 years ago - If somebody told me "I know the perfect place for you troubl... it's all about football, art, insomnia and weirdness of the good kind... and it will be your creative outlet." I wouldn't have believed it. There is such a healthy (not mentally, of course) and diverse community of artists here who have pushed me to challenge myself. I can honestly say that if it weren't for the Fark Board here - I'd be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind where I am today.

I always took art courses because that's where I got my good grades in school, lol and always enjoyed sketching when I was young. I went into sales and didn't really give my creative side any indulgence except for maybe a quick sketch of a coworker during a meeting. The Fark board got my creative juices flowing again and just about everything I've learned came from here or I was inspired by something one of y'all have done and figured it out after watching a bunch of Youtube tutorials.

The recent posts by Yurintroubl and HooDooWitch kind of sound like an AA meeting. I'll continue...Hi, I'm Catahoula...I'm a farker...

I have definitely learned from all of you and truly enjoy the friendship of everyone here. I tend to think I have a bizarre imagination and through farking, I have been able to give my imagination a regular workout on this board. I have a photography background and worked in Dallas for an advertising agency for awhile. Since settling down here in Baton Rouge in 2001, I've been self taught in Photoshop and definitely enjoy the image manipulation aspect of the world of fark. As some of you know, I have a tendency of making very subtle adjustments to some of my work. You must look very closely at my images...I'm quite proud to say several of my images have recently gone completly undetected by any of you but were picked up and used in their own farks! That always makes me smile! I have restored many photographs for people and get a LOT of satisfaction knowing I helped preserve a photo memory for people. I certainly have MUCH more to learn from all of you and look forward to more fun and games with all of you.
