How to screenshot a long thing in one shot and export as jpg?

You know when you see those screenshots of Facebook statuses on 4chan and Reddit that are usually on IMGUR and you can click on them and make them slightly bigger with a magnifying glass?
How would I take a screenshot of an entire long thing and then export it as a jpg? Does anyone know how to do this?

You can also zoom out on your browser view until you can grab the whole thing (I use pixlr grabber on Firefox). When you save it to your desktop or paste it into whatever - it will be full size. Then just reset your view to normal.
ETA:
Pixlr Grabber will save it as a PNG to your desktop, but if you paste it into whatever program you use for photomanipulation, you can export it as whatever you want (PNG is usually a much smaller size KB-wise which makes for faster load time).

Thanks guys!
Yeah, I just had a funny FB conversation that I wanted to post as an image on here. It's too long to take one screenshot with.

I found a plugin that does it for me on Firefox! Pretty nifty tool!

I'll have to put it through its paces vs. PixlrGrabber. I've never been one to go crazy over add-ons but Firefox has some great little gadgets for the artistic-minded people. I can't live without TinEye (I prefer it to the google drag-n-drop version). Only thing I hate about FF is the way image details are displayed without certain add-ons.

This is what I did with the simple plugin (I'm Cass T.

Yikes.
Glad y'all got all that sorted.
BTW - I keep reading "Allison Bihm Cole" as "Allison Bunghole"... I don't know what's wrong with me but oh well. It's no reflection on her as I person I can assure you.
ETA:
You are a trooper. I woulda bailed on that discussion long before you did.
