Are you a musician of sorts? Throughout the years, you've chosen very unique artists not that many people would know.

I'm 65 years old, and my musician's skills are that I took up tinkering with the guitar about 3 years ago. I play open chords and strum to stuff I learned on YouTube, but that's the limit of my talents as a musician....... I've just always loved music of any kind since I was old enough to listen to it. I had a family diverse in musical tastes and grew up listening to Old School Country music, Blue Grass, Blues Rock and even Classical music. I have tons of Records, tapes and CDs of all kinds of music, and listen to whatever fits my mood at the time. My favorite music is just good R&B Rock n Roll. I've just been surrounded by all kinds of music throughout my life and learned to love a lot of different artist and genres of music.

Always healthy to have an open mind about music, I try to be the same as well

I picked up an acoustic gee-tar a few years back b/c I can play the sax and piano, but man I got so damn frustrated so I put it back on the rack and haven't picked it up since I'm pretty impatient for that kind of thing.

I was the same way. Stubborn in the fact I thought I could learn to play guitar on my own, and I tried it 100s of times over the course of my lifetime starting as a Teen, but I got frustrated and put it down for months / years at a time. Back then, there wasn't anything like the web to help with anything. I did learn the open chord shapes and could change to them quickly enough, but never was able to put playing songs together that sounded good. About three years ago, I started pulling up some OLD early and mid 70s Eagles videos on youtube, and just out of curiosity, I looked up the chords to a few of the Eagles songs, and saw that most of them were fairly simple chords that I knew. Decided to see what I could find on YouTube of people playing them and I ran across a guy who teaches Basic Beginners / Intermediate and some Advanced playing. Guy's Name is Marty Schwartz. He's with a couple of YouTubes sites called MartyMusic and GuitarJamz. If you ever get the urge to learn to play again, Look him up on those sites on You Tube. He teaches 100s of songs, Breaks them down into strum pattern, chords and teaches a few embellishment to make it interesting .
